This circa-1930s estate is a home we have had the This circa-1930s estate is a home we have had the privilege of working in for decades, thoughtfully evolving its interiors while honoring its historic character. From our archives, the beloved blue-and-white room reflects the enduring nature of that approach; designed years ago around the clients’ growing collection of blue-and-white porcelain, it remains intact and just as relevant today. Throughout the home, we have preserved its historic footprint while bringing the tones and textures of the surrounding landscape indoors and making the clients’ collections an integral part of everyday life. We wanted to bring the feeling of the beach indoor We wanted to bring the feeling of the beach indoors without resorting to coastal themes. Texture does most of that work here: warm wood, soft linens, woven and painted surfaces layered together, and blue millwork with a wallpaper inset tucked inside it. Calming coastal hues and plenty of comfortable seating make this an easy place to put your feet up and spend time together after a day outside.
