2015 Old City Fest

Marguerite Rodgers created charming, eclectic, inviting room settings within The Center for Art in Wood for the 2015 Old City Fest. The showcase remained open for the duration of the lively neighborhood festival, which is known for its shopping, food, demonstrations, street performances, live music, and a family fun zone. The team at Marguerite Rodgers wanted the rooms to evoke a story about make-believe inhabitants of the space, two artists who live and create art together. To illustrate the lives of these imaginary characters, the firm procured art, furniture, and accessories from Old City shops and boutiques to create rooms full of personality. Vintage furniture, high-tech 1950s operating room lamps, spoked magazine racks, and quirky ceramic lamps came together in a combination of stagecraft and the comforts of home.
