Caribbean Family Compound

Longtime clients desired a multi-structure compound on a pristine oceanfront property and gave Meg Rodgers creative license to realize their vision and her own. Meg collaborated with architect Ernesto Buch and De La Guardia Victoria Architects. The result — completed over a decade — includes a main villa, guest cottage, pool house and spa, and auxiliary buildings interconnected by courtyards, terraces, and gardens. The distinctive interior design honors the classical architecture albeit with a modern, exotic sensibility. Rooms are airy and elegant with waxed oak and coral stone flooring, bamboo ceilings, and raffia walls, a neutral backdrop for Indian, Andalusian, and Asian influences. The client is so delighted with the outcome that they have made this special place more of a primary residence than a vacation destination.
