Federal Townhouse

The owners of this spacious historic Philadelphia townhouse came to Marguerite Rodgers for an interior design reflective of their early American and Pennsylvania German roots. They also wanted the rooms to be welcoming, inherently comfortable, and ideal for entertaining. The designers looked to Colonial, Dutch, and Shaker aesthetics and sourced or commissioned a relevant mix of old and new furniture and artwork. Focus on craftsmanship, a calm palette, paneled rooms, and ingenious cabinetry provide a timeless, enticing environment. Quilts, hand-hooked rugs, painted furniture, and antiques reinforce the patina and period that the client loves.
