Oceanfront Retreat

Sited high among the dunes, this beachside home maximizes unspoiled views from the communal areas and primary bedroom. Expansive glazing frames the ocean and Marguerite Rodgers’ interiors render the rooms intimate in spite of the large scale. The owners’ divergent style preferences harmonize for a gracious presence inside and out. Traditional vernacular references define the exterior, while the interiors are sleek and modern and provide wonderful spaces for entertaining or private sanctuary. Resort-like with privacy and comprehensive amenities, the interiors feature a sculptural curved walnut staircase, the warmth of wood throughout, exquisite lighting, and dune-inspired colors accented with orange and red or, in the primary suite, muted blues. The use of scale, materials, and texture creates a comforting retreat.
