Summer Home

Visually rich in texture and detail, this beach home abounds in creative solutions by Marguerite Rodgers. Permitting optimal flow and function as requested by the clients, the communal rooms are light-filled and comfortable, while the bedrooms are tranquil sanctuaries. In the primary bedroom suite, dual vanities flank a spacious walk-in shower. Inspired by Japanese shoji screens that allow light in from opaque windows, the mirrors installed over the vanities conceal working windows while providing privacy. The use of contrasting natural materials — light flooring, custom matte oak millwork, and dark blue-gray tones — conjures the peace and calm of a seaside retreat into a modern home for the owners to enjoy.
